Graphene Mobile
In 2010, smartphone shipments surpassed PC shipments, and sales of smartphones are continuing to increase at an increasing rate (Technology Review, May/June 2011 issue).
More and more people are bringing their lives on the move. Optimise your site for display on mobile devices now, and make a significant portion of your site’s visitors a happier bunch.

Installation
Installing Graphene Mobile is easy. I’ve prepared an Installation Instructions for the theme. If you encounter any problem, you can request for support at the Support Forum. I’ll be more than happy to help.

Use it with any theme
Graphene Mobile was initially developed for the Graphene theme, but it has been coded so that you can use it with any other themes. All you need is 2 lines of code to make any theme compatible with Graphene Mobile, so you can still have your favourite theme for desktop users, and optimised display on mobile devices for those on the move.
Fully configurable colour options
Transform the theme’s colours to match your desktop theme, all from the comfort of your WP admin screen. No experimenting with CSS, no more spending hours trying to figure out the right codes to change the colours of various elements. With colour pickers and instant previews, you’ll be done in a few minutes!
Two-level Dropdown Menu
Horizontal space is very precious in a mobile device, and as a result mobile-optimised sites often can’t put too many menu items in their navigation bar. Since version 1.1.4, Graphene Mobile now has the ability to display two-level dropdown menu in the navigation bar, practically doubling or even tripling the amount of menu items you can place in the navigation bar.
Automatic Updates
When you pay for something, you deserve the best treatment. Users of free themes from WordPress.org theme repository get notifications when an update is available for the theme they are using right from the dashboard, and can update the theme with a single click. So why should you deserve anything less than that when you’re paying for the theme?
You don’t! With Graphene Mobile, you get the exact same notification and automatic update capability with any other free themes hosted on the WordPress.org repository. That’s ease of use and deployment!
Zero downtime
This mobile theme is developed while keeping in mind the importance of ease of use and deployment. All of the theme’s options, including Custom Menus and Widget Areas, can be configured without ever needing to activate the theme, so there’ll be no disruption at all to the normal operation and presentation of your website.
See it for yourself
Two of the sites below are using Graphene Mobile for display on mobile devices. Visit the site using a mobile device and see for yourself what the theme can do for you. Rest assured that the mobile theme powering the websites are the latest, unmodified version of this mobile theme. What you see really is what you will get!
Screenshots
The best way to preview the theme is really to see it in action. But just in case you accidentally left your smartphone at home, here’s a few screenshots of the Graphene Theme demo site when viewed using an Android-powered phone.
Translate and get it at half price
Here’s your chance to get a copy of the theme at half the price. Purchase the theme, translate all the strings into any language, send me the translation files (.po and .mo files) and I’ll refund half the amount you spent purchasing it!
Graphene Mobile is currently available in the following languages:
- Danish (da_DK)
- Dutch (nl_NL)
- English (default)
- German (de_DE) by Millo
- Swedish (sv_SE)
- Russian (ru_RU)
7-day money back guarantee
I am confident that you will like the theme once you’ve given it a test drive! But in the unfortunate (and unlikely) event that you don’t, just ask for a refund within 7 days of your purchase, and I will return the amount you spent to purchase the theme.
License
The theme is released under GNU General Public License v3 (GPL v3).

Since we found the versatile Graphene theme for WordPress websites recently, we’ve installed it on 3 websites already. It’s great, easy to use & personalise, plugin-friendly, & has what every bit of software should have; a control panel interface of settings to take the pain of design out of the process. And now, what more could you ask for than the MOBILE/smartphone version of this same excellent Graphene theme. Syahir, well done, mate! (If I translate it into Australian English, can I get one for free, haha?)

Thanks Brent! Sorry mate, it’s not really in the best interest to have multiple variants of English locales

‘S okay, Syahir, was just trying to be funny, you know how Aussies sound different from UK, who sound different from US, who sound different from NZ.
Also, the new 1.4 version of Graphene is a very nice update. Love the ability to now change the basic colour scheme variables.

Hi hasansahin,
I don’t speak Turkish, but I translated your comment using Google and from what I understand you would like to translate the theme into Turkish. Glad to hear that!
Just let me know when you’ve finished the translation.

Hi Paloma,
There’s currently no Spanish translation yet, and no one has offered to do one so far. So yes, Spanish translation would very much be welcomed.

There is a total of 222 strings that needs to be translated, as of the current version. But you don’t need to translate them all at once. You can translate like 20 strings a day, and will be done in 10 days or so.

Awesome Theme, I LOVE it. I do have one request / question….
The “warning message blocks , important message blocks, etc” , is there a way to edit the image/name or to create a new type of this???
I would like to create a “quotes” message box
and for my site a “fresh pluck” message box with an image of my choice..
I don’t care if for now it is a hack, but maybe an idea for future options.

Hi Syahir,
a question, this theme can also be used for developing iPhone applications for inclusion in ’AppleStore?
you need the translation in Italian?
Thanks for the reply.

Hi benny,
Not quite sure what you mean by “this theme can also be used for developing iPhone applications for inclusion in Apple Store”. The Graphene Mobile theme is a WordPress theme, that is for optimised display of WordPress-powered sites on mobile devices. It’s not a software development tool of any kind.
But yes, an Italian translation would be welcomed.
