Random funny images

Every time I open my Firefox browser, I usually will do one thing before anything else: check the Twitter statuses of those I follow. Usually this takes only a few seconds as all the updates get delivered right at the bottom bar of the browser. Sometimes I reply to some tweets, sometimes I follow some links and have an interesting read. And sometimes, funny things that people tweet make me smile. And this is just one of those:

Twilight Moms

And then sometimes (like once or twice a week, maybe), I stumble around in Facebooks, answering friend requests (more like accepting, really), replying to some wall posts, or posting something on other people’s walls, or view other people photos. And yes, there bound to be something funny there too, sometimes. This is what I found this time:

Spongebob is Malaysian

Credits to Shaza Hakim for retweeting the tweet from flisterz for the Twilight Moms image, and Awie Gaucho for the Spongebob IC in Facebook, and Amira Khairuddin through whose profile I stumbled across the image.

5 Things Not Many People Know About Me

In response to Renee’s post, here are my version of 5 things about me that not many people know. At the end of this post, there’ll be a list of 5 persons who must continue this game and write about their 5 things that not many people know about them.

1. I like stargazing

This is one of my favourite hobbies. I can practically lie down at night and look up on the stars and ponder about the vastness of space and the infinite possibilities of what may be out there. And it always come down to me when I’m in the face of such a grandeur scale of the universe, I am humbled by the powerlessness of our own being and how insignificant we are in the larger scheme of the universe.

When I was still in MRSM Langkawi, sometimes at night me and several friends used to sneak out past midnight and went to the field and just lie down there, looking at the stars and wondering upon it. And yes, I did caught a falling star that night :) .

(If you’re wondering what do I want for a birthday present, a nice expensive telescope would be fantastic ;) )

2. I love adventurous travelling

Yes, I favour a rough trekking into the jungle climbing rocks and traversing rivers way more than the luxurious soft thick bed of hotel suite or the glamours and glitters of shopping heaven. One of the reason why I choose New Zealand to further my study is because of its amazing natural environment and how I dreamt of travelling and witnessing the beauty and wonders of nature.

3. I read more non-fiction than fiction

It didn’t start off that way, of course. When I was a kid and the time when I started to read books with hundreds of pages, most of them are fictions and I do love them. But as I grow up, I find a liking to non-fiction more and more. Fictions are great for fantasies and fun and enjoying, but surprisingly, non-fiction provide those things too. Plus because they are non-fiction, they deal more with the reality of life. I believe books should add to our knowledge, and non-fiction does that way better than fiction does. I still read fiction though, just that I read non-fictions more.

4. I spend a lot if I have a lot of money

I don’t know what you’ll call that kind of person, but I usually spend a lot if I have a lot of money, and I can restrict my spending to as minimal as possible when I don’t have a lot of money. Perhaps this is one habit I should change. Save for the future…

5. Kids fantasies don’t really interest me

By kids fantasies, I mean those books in the fantasy genre targeted for younger readers and audience like Harry Potter and Narnia. I don’t really read or watch them, so when my friends are crazy over the latest Harry Potter book or movie and recently, the new Narnia movie, I couldn’t be bothered. I like adult fantasies way better, and I don’t mean those 18SX kind of adult fantasies, but rather those books or movies in the fantasy genre targeted for grown-ups or young adults like Lord of the Rings and Stardust. Those are good..

Okay, now the 5 tagged persons who MUST continue this “5 Things About Me” post:

  1. Jon Mah
  2. Imanka
  3. Aleen
  4. Zahra
