The Flush, Teacher’s Day 2006

Back in MRSM Langkawi, my batch (the seventh batch) has an uncanny preference to make videos for prominent events, such as Teacher’s Day and the Batch Dinner. Some of these videos really contain messages that we would like to get through to the audience, while some are just for fun – those that we will remember years later. There are several videos that we made during our 2 years there, and since I’m involved in most of the video-making process, unlike most of us I have a copy of those videos in my computer. Out of those several videos we made, I decided to share 2 of them here.

Those classic (good ol') games

Those of us lucky enough to have a computer back in the 90′s when the Windows version we were using was either DOS or Windows 95, for sure we remember those old games like Prehistorik 2 and Mario Teaches Typing and Wolfenstein 3D that have been stealing lots of our times getting stuck in front of those bulky horizontal machine with a small 14 inch monitor in front of us. And yeah, I still remember the keyboard having a plastic cover.

More than 10 years later, I somehow remembered those games and did a quick search on Google to see if they’re still around. And they are!

Maths HL Options: Sequences & Series Toolbox

Everybody who does the Sequences & Series option for IB Maths HL knows how painful it is to remember all those different proving techniques and methods and theorems. To make it easier for me to choose which technique and to familiarise myself with those techniques while doing the exercises, I made this one-page A4-sized notes [...]

Let's spill some blood

When I grew up to be 18 years old last year, I had that joyful feeling (as everybody would) of having finally surpassed the legal age where you can do anything any other adult can do (except voting). And aspiring to be a good person (notice the word aspire), I started thinking, “How can I change the world?” Okay, a little bit over the roof, I admit. Then I realise there’s something significant I can do that wouldn’t take much effort. I would give my blood away.

Where's the fun?

While reading The Star newspaper today, I came across this picture: And I thought, “Heck, who would want to go to a beach like that?”. But then the answer stroke me: a damn lot of people! That’s very, very obvious from the picture. So sad. I mean, people go to the beach not just because [...]

The Malaysian Social Contract

Article is taken from chedet.com, written by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. 1. Before there was Malaya and Malaysia the peninsular was known as Tanah Melayu, or Malay Land. 2. Saying this alone would result in accusations of being racist. 3. But I need to go back in history if I am going to be able [...]

Will the dust ever settle?

Many people described the last 12th General Election as a political tsunami for the ruling coalition. Many had also written articles or opinions that contain the phrase “…when the dust settles…” when commenting on the outcome of the election. Apparently, however, the dust is anything but settled, and there’s no indication that it will settle [...]
